FROM CONCEPT TO EXECUTION, IDEAS THAT SOLVE PROBLEMS, EXPERIENCED LEADER WITH HANDS ON SKILLS.
THE CONCEPT

Hosted by Kara Swisher, the Code Conference brings together key leaders from the tech and business worlds each year to discuss what comes next.
Kara Swisher, seated in her infamous Red Chair, has grilled the biggest names in the industry on topics ranging from cryptocurrency to climate change.
The Red Chair has become a conceptual icon, symbolizing the importance of the conference as the "hot seat" for some of the most influential media figures in the world.

The existing CODE/ReCode branding is simple and bold, using red and black with support from white. Featuring the Red Chair makes a bold statement, emphasizing it as the focal point of this campaign.
With the concept established, we now apply the existing CODE/ReCode branding to our designs.

CODE CONFERENCE

STEELCASE D CHAIR

THE INSPO

The initial inspiration for the CODE concept “chair” sits on a mantle in my home. I spotted this ad in the Wall Street Journal and saved it for its clever conceptual thought. One chair, standing out above the others, catches your attention.
This ad was created for The Ladders in 2011 by the ad agency Fallon. This print campaign is related to the professional services industry and contains one media asset.

Now, can you imagine if the chair in the ad were red?

Designers often draw inspiration from the work of other graphic designers. In contrast, a conceptual designer finds inspiration in the broader world around them. The concept of a chair embodying human characteristics comes from observing other chairs and imagining how they might exist independently.

At this stage we were introduced to the production company that will be implementing production during the conference. Final stage blueprints were delivered and we built a partnership with TRILLIUM brainstorming, troubleshooting and planning ahead establishing a game plan for handoff and execution in the form of a custom, easy to use toolkit.
THE CHAIR "SETS THE STAGE"

Implemented artwork and animations carefully designed to each panel of the revolving stage. A well thought out and collaborative file was handed off. An After Effects file was thoughtfully created for flexibility and use upon delivery. On the spot editing needs were thought through with premade, user friendly templates.
Animations created for the stage were designed to be compliment other branding and marketing elements such as social assets, website, and onsite monitors and oversized event projections.

BRANDING CODE

Additional branding elements included all social media promotional elements for online social media and print collateral. Marketing pieces such as name badges and wayfinding, were also created for the event.
All event branding included a personal websites created for promotional purposes with up to date event details. The RSVP CTA served as analytics for the event team allowing them to lock in or adjust needs of the conference attendees. The site served as an adjustable event itinerary with the latest news and event changes.
